This florist and floristry school is very well situated opposite Brompton Square, between Harrods and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The client initially approached KIMA to create visuals of the interior and exterior to secure the lease. From there KIMA was responsible for the planning application to the local authority for a replacement shopfront and for obtaining the License to Alter from the landlord. Both the landlord and the local authority welcomed their proposal for a traditional shopfront.
For the interior, the team was inspired by shop interiors from the Victorian era. The space is fortunate to have high ceilings, so KIMA clad the walls in timber paneling, painted by hand in a soft green to form a backdrop for floral displays. The teaching area centers on a 4 meter long table, especially designed and made for the store, and is surrounded by Murano glass mirrors with a flower detail incorporated into the wall paneling.
